Gender: Applications are invited from unmarried male and unmarried female candidates.
Age: Candidates should be born between 01 Nov 2003 and 30 Apr 2007 (inclusive of both dates).
Marital Status: Only unmarried Indian male and female candidates are eligible. Candidates must remain unmarried throughout the four-year tenure
Educational qualifications: 10+2 with Mathematics & Physics (50% marks), or a three-year diploma in Engineering (50% marks), or a two-year Vocational Course with Physics and Mathematics (50% marks).

Stage I – INET (Indian Navy Entrance Test): Candidates are shortlisted based on marks obtained in the computer-based test covering English, Science, Mathematics, and General Awareness.
Stage II – PFT, Written Examination, and Recruitment Medical: Shortlisted candidates undergo a Physical Fitness Test (PFT), followed by a written examination covering a specified syllabus. Successful candidates proceed to the Recruitment Medical Examination.
