RRB Technician Eligibility Criteria
Education Qualificaiton:
- For Post 1: Candidates should possess a B.Sc degree in Physics, Electronics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Instrumentation, or hold an Engineering Diploma.
- For Post 2: Candidates must have passed the 10th standard and obtained relevant ITI certification in trades such as Forger and Heat Treater, Foundryman, Pattern Maker, Moulder (Refractory), Fitter (Structural), Welder, Carpenter, Plumber, Pipe Fitter, Mechanic (Motor Vehicle), Material Handling Equipment cum Operator, Crane Operator, Operator Locomotive and Rail Cranes, Electrician, Mechanic Auto Electrical and Electronics, Wireman, Electronics Mechanic, Mechanic Power Electronics, Mechanic Diesel, Mechanic (Repair and Maintenance of Heavy Vehicles), Mechanic Automobile (Advanced Diesel Engine), Tractor Mechanic, Painter, Mechanic (HT, LT Equipments and Cable Jointing), Machinist, Operator Advanced Machine Tool, Machinist (Grinder), Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic, Instrument Mechanic, Mechanic Mechatronics, Turner, Welder (Gas and Electric), Gas Cutter, Welder (Structural), Welder (Pipe), Welder (TIG/MIG), and more.
Age Limit:
- For Post 1: 18 to 36 years
- For Post 2: 18 to 33 years
(Age relaxation is applicable for specified categories as per government norms. SC/ST candidates get 5 years of relaxation and OBC candidates get 3 years of relaxation. Age will be calculated as of July 1, 2024.)

How To Apply RRB Technician Post
Read Instructions: Carefully go through all information and instructions before filling out the online application to avoid errors.
Create Account: Candidates must create an account for this recruitment process through the link provided on the official RRB websites. They need an active mobile number and email ID for OTP verification. The account details, including mobile number and email ID, cannot be changed later.
Submit Online Application: Each candidate can apply to only one RRB for a specific pay level. Submit one common online application for any or all of the notified posts in order of preference. Applications should be submitted through official RRB websites.
Separate Application for Each Pay Level: Submit a separate application for each pay level, as separate CBTs will be conducted. Pay the applicable examination fee separately for each pay level.
Choose RRB: Once the application is submitted, the RRB selected shall be final for that pay level. Applying to more than one RRB for the same pay level will result in the rejection of all applications for that pay level.
Prepare Scanned Documents: Before filling out the application, keep scanned documents ready, including a recent passport-size photograph, signature, SC/ST certificate (if applicable), and scribe details (if applicable).
